1 hour presentation of Swiss copyright law and DICE Methodology within the Workshop “Potenziare visibilità ed efficacia della cooperazione allo sviluppo attraverso Wikipedia e le licenze libere” at the SUPSI (Trevano)

Participants will receive inputs on the topics of Copyright, access to information, and free licencese in order to learn how to use and combine Creative Commons licenses to enchance the visibility and effectiveness of cooperation and development. Furthermore they will learn different ways to contribute to Wikipedia. DICE was asked to present the Swiss Copyright law and the use of Creative Commons licenses in a 1h input presentation.

Seminar at the Università della Svizzera italiana

The seminar was addressed to professors, teachers, teaching assistants, and librarians of USI and of other educational institutions to help them face the issue of digital copyright in educational settings. Goal of the seminar was to present the basics of Swiss copyright, the DICE methodology, some case studies and all resources available on the DICE website.
At the end of the seminar there were space for discussion and specific questions of the audience.

December 10, 2014, Morat:

Presentation at the HEP Fribourg

A course with the title “Geistiges Eigentum und Urheberrecht im Schulbereich” was held for all teachers and ICT contact people of primary, secondary and high schools of Canton Fribourg.
Goals of the course were:
• Know the most important elements of the copyright law in Switzerland, particularly in the school system;
• Know which are the main differences among using documents inside the classroom and publishing them on the web;
• Sensitize teachers and students on legal implications of copyright violations.

After the presentation, there was a discussion on the basis of all questions previously submitted by the participants.
The course was organized by the HEP – Haute Ecole Pedagogique Fribourg and was held in German.

Presentation for the Fri-Tic Centre

A course with the title “Le droit d’auteur dans le contexte scolaire” was held for all HEP Fribourg (Haute école pédagogique) teachers, primary and secondary schools teachers and MITIC ressources people.

Goals of the course were:
• Know the most important elements of the copyright law in Switzerland, especially in the school system;
Sensitize teachers and students on legal implications of copyright violations.

Plenary session and input workshop at e²change2014

DICE is invited to contribute to e²change2014, the yearly meeting of educanet² administrators. The topic “Copyright and educanet²” will be presented in the plenary session and afterward, an 1/2 hour input workshop about “Creative Commons (CC) Licenses for your own content” will be proposed twice, once in German and once in French.

Workshop for MITIC and Friportail

A workshop with the title “Ressources numériques, réalisations MITIC: questions juridiques” was organized for the teachers and collaborators of MITIC courses and for the resources creators of the website www.friportail.ch. The workshop was held in French and covered the following topic: “Quels aspects juridiques sont à considérer quand on produit des ressources numériques ou qu’on réalise des projets multimédias avec les élèves ?”.

Goals of the seminar were:
•    Be aware of the key elements of the Swiss Copyright law
•    Be able to use the DICE methodology and tools for solving concrete cases
•    Discover the reference tools and services available to deal with legal issues in a school setting.

Meeting of the SSAB/FSFA foundation board

The DICE project was presented at the SSAB/FSFA (Schweizerische Stiftung für audiovisuelle Bildungsangebote / Fondation suisse pour la formation par l’audiovisuel) foundation board meeting. The speech was held in German with the title “Die Site DICE – Digital Copyirights for E-Learning”.

Conference within the continuing education offer for teachers of the gymnase intercantonal de la Broye. The conference has been held in French and aimed at sensitize teachers and educators on the copyrigh issues, and particularly on the topic of content download.

The DICE team was invited to introduce the Swiss copyright law, present the DICE methodology and discuss arising copyright questions with the audience. Presentations were held in German whereas the discussion with both in German and French.

DICE at the “Wissenschaftlichen BibliothekarInnen und Social Media” Conference

The DICE project and methodology was presented at the “Wissenschaftlichen BibliothekarInnen und Social Media” Conference on Friday 15th of June. The event took place at the University of Zurich (Campus Irchel) and was organized by the IG WBS (Interessengruppe Wissenschaftlicher Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare der Schweiz) and the AG IK (Arbeitsgruppe Informationskompetenz).

April 2-3, 2012, Murten/Morat:

DICE at the Eduhub days

DICE was at the eduhub days 2012, the national meeting of the Swiss eLearning academic community, which took place in Murten/Morat on April 2-3, 2012.

The DICE team proposed a Learning Café Lungo, a 40-minutes workshop where the DICE methodology and tools will be presented through an interactive exercise where participants will have to solve a case related to digital copyrights in education.
